The Hatcher team recently visited Gabriel Archer Tavern for lunch with our resident pup, Camry—and it turned into one of those easy, memorable afternoons.
We grabbed a table on the covered patio, which was the perfect mix of comfort and scenery, overlooking the vineyard. It’s such a peaceful setting and a great spot to slow down and enjoy the moment.
Camry was treated like part of the family. Our waitress was incredibly friendly, bringing him his own water bowl and stopping by with plenty of pets. It’s always a great sign when a place truly welcomes dogs.
The food definitely lived up to the setting. I had the turkey egg quiche, and it was absolutely delicious—light, flavorful, and something I’d come back for again.
The wine is just as much a highlight as the food. Since Gabriel Archer Tavern is part of the vineyard, you can enjoy locally made wines right on site, from crisp whites to smooth reds. They also have a wine shop next door, making it easy to take a bottle (or two) home and relive the experience later.
After lunch, we took a walk through the vineyard, soaking in the views and snapping a photo at the iconic Virginia “LOVE” sign, which makes for such a fun and unique backdrop.
If you’re looking for a dog-friendly, laid-back spot in Williamsburg with great food and beautiful views, Gabriel Archer Tavern is a must-visit.
