Now, we are really Hatchers!

With the last name of "Hatcher", it might seem like we should be more experienced with chickens and eggs.  But, we are a bit like Spring Chicks ourselves with this new hobby, scratching around and learning as we go. 

Originally, we were inspired to delve into this chicken venture to offset the cost of eggs, which had spiked really high at the time.  Even though egg prices have since come back down, we found out that chickens are actually quite entertaining, kind of like having a bunch of funny pets!  

Something else we've learned is that (at least for us), the chickens definitely came first.  In fact, we waited for what seemed like an eternity for our hens to start laying eggs.  Fortunately, now all four of them are consistently laying one egg per day!  

That output is more than enough to feed our family, so we've started doing monthly egg giveaways.  So, would you like some FREE EGGS?
